I (with the help of my amazing team Lenique Louis, Lucy Bell, and Victoria Huske) redesigned the Addi Circular Knitting Machine Hand Crank to address discomfort for users who enjoy knitting in their free time. We wanted to create a design that maintains the user's wrist in a neutral position, preventing cramping and discomfort during extended use. We incorporated a thumb hold on the side to support a natural grip and maintain wrist neutrality. The design also features a single-finger groove, which accommodates various hand sizes without limiting comfort. This ergonomic modification enhances grip stability and significantly increases comfort, offering a more intuitive and supportive hold for long knitting sessions.
